In a profession that demands people skills, market knowledge, and literally knowing the lay of the land, Tara Kapany is eminently qualified. She’s a lifelong Bay Area resident, holds a bachelor’s degree in communications with a minor in marketing, and brings years of experience in customer service and property management.

Tara got into real estate in the fast-moving field of lease-ups, gathering resident leads for new buildings even before they are completed. “Being a part of a lease-up is a crazy experience,” she says, “but you learn to work on your feet and roll with the punches.”

That’s where Tara’s people skills come into play. With more than a decade in customer service, she’s at ease with clients from all walks of life, from Section 8 tenants to expert renters. “Helping people find the safe space and dream home that makes them happy, as well as meeting new people along the way, is super rewarding,” she says.

In her spare time, Tara likes outdoor activities and is an avid hiker. She enjoys exploring San Francisco and is a globetrotter who spent six months overseas, visiting 25 different countries in Europe and Asia. She also derives great satisfaction from community service, having volunteered with Habitat for Humanity. “It was a very rewarding experience that I would definitely like to do again,” she says. “I enjoyed seeing so many people of different backgrounds come together for such a great cause.”
